True and it is the expectation that drives behaviour. Whether or not the expectation is tethered to reality is largely irrelevant.

I was replying to Jenna, who said expectations drive behavior. When I reached adulthood in '81, my expectations were I could do, be, dream, expect anything. The expectations of men *of me* were irrelevant.
