Wow a discussion about Gaza that ends in agreement. Rare sight, kudos. The DMZ needs to be held by mediators like Saudi Arabia, USA and the EU. It'll be hard with the rightwing extremists in the USA, though. They line up with their peers in Israel. I dont see it happening in the current Trump term.
Thankyou for a good discussion. I tend to be a bit abrasive on here - the character limit doesn't help. Ultimately, I think that most casual observers of the conflict want peace and for the suffering to end, but how to get to a lasting peace is very tricky given the entrenched positions.
I think that something similar was tried in Lebanon with the UN. Ultimately that ended in failure IMO. I'm not sure how much the Israeli people would trust a similar solution - especially when the risks are so high (e.g a repeat of 10/7)
Yes it will be a heavy compromise but every year in peace is worthwhile and the israelis have to realize a Palestinian life is worth as much as an Israeli one
