May be if some workers in CA + Blue states can afford this move it will at least sting in DC. So.. Request your employer to not pay you for a week (or month) - they will keep the money aside in the bank to pay you later, and ask for a "loan" to help get you thru the week. Would that work?

That is pretty creative, I must say. I doubt employers would agree to it, though, and I suspect that the IRS would consider it tax evasion.
