It’s easy to forget Arizona gets cold. I rode from Globe to Alpine in March and I got snowed on heavily. The road (old highway 666) was covered in an inch or two of virgin snow. It was an awesome but white-knuckle two hours. My boots were covered in dirty ice at the end.

One day before elk hunting season (I think in October) you’ll see herds grazing by the side of the major roads. Opening day, at the first gunshot, they’re gone. Above 10,000 feet in the mountains, in almost impossible terrain for hunting. 🧵
