Fun fact: I once auditioned to be a local Robocop for public appearances, mall openings, etc. I didn’t nail it. The guy who was FAR and away the best- had the walk, nailed every minute mechanical movement- was a short, stocky guy who would never have fit the suit. A male model who was okay got it.

Spent the budget on the procession of grisly failures scene, maybe.

Way overdue a rewatch. I remember so little. He flies? What I remember most is whereas 1 had scenes in the style of DKR, 2 had a writer in the style of DKR.
No, no flying until Robocop 3, which I am now watching and will continue to watch until I tap out. Robocop 2 has some good stuff floating in a bunch of nothing.

Sometimes I wonder if Tubi and Roku have a deal where there's a secret sensor that knows how far away you are from the remote to follow a movie with something questionable. Yeah, Robocop 3 is the sequel, BUT STILL.

Okay, I still think this movie isn’t good, but somehow the movie starting with a ragtatg group of grubby everyman anti-corporate freedom fighters feels both appropriate AND like a logical continuation of the themes of the first movie. They’re an inversion of Boddicker’s gang. Interesting.

I feel bad for Robert John Burke taking over the lead from Peter Weller. Not a bad actor, but he’s unable to bring anything new to the role and is just there to be a square jaw. A thankless job.
