This is disgusting. My 40 year old son with an intellectual disability worked hard to earn his certificate of completion. No one ever mistook it for a diploma. Yet, he worked as hard for it as the valedictorian worked for his diploma. Fortunately, we’re from MA, not FL (my birth state).

Certificate of Completion is meaningless. They will now get a "regular diploma." Employers have the reasonability to determine strengths and needs.

I worked for a school district. This was a discussion we had as a state and concluded Certificate of Completion was discriminatory. All students in that state got a diploma.
