From watching 50 years of imported American tv, it appears that LA is an enormous city where everything is a five minute drive away and there’s always a parking space at the door of your destination.

To dispel any misconceptions... On a federal holiday I just took 35 mins to travel 4 miles (during actual rush hour I've dealt with 45 mins for 0.75 miles), and finding parking is an artform.

Honestly, more common is just don't leave stuff in your car and assume that someone may rummage through it, as with any city

Well I’m either working at home with my wife’s car in the garage or at work with my wife’s car parked behind a security fence.
