U.S. Rep. Brittany Pettersen @pettersen.house.gov

Our resolution to allow new parents in Congress to vote remotely is meeting historic resistance—Speaker Johnson literally shut down the House to avoid a vote. But we have a message for Johnson: we aren’t backing down until we get this done. Let us vote.

Any Bill offering kindness and help to others not in their playbook, even for their own. What type of monster does not want babies to be happy and well taken care of? A new breed of monster, the Trump Toady.

I hate Johnson with a passion, but this is a bad bill. It's a slippery slope to allow proxy votes.

Indicative of the real welfare queens and terrorists you need to worry about, not someone from another country. They're right in your backyard, running multi-billion dollar corporations, and holding office. Your oppression is their profession.

Good to let new parents do this but better is to mandate that all do so while staying home in their districts. Then redraw the districts so that each represents no more than 30k people. This cuts costs and allows for actual representation. Oh, and it kills gerrymandering.

But…but…but…the children!!! Moses Mike has always been about the children, yes? He’s the arbiter of family values shaming all of us for not thinking of the babies? The domestic supply? Hmmm it’s almost like they’re craven hypocrites.

They can’t do anything to help Americans if they aren’t allowed to represent us remotely when physically unable to be present in DC.

Sorry as one who had three kids while doing my medical residency, I don't see this as the issue that our pampered Congress should be celebrating. Look at us we come together when it suits us! Next month we will band together for our own pay raise cause we will eat while we watch the country starve.
