I think the question would be…why are they upset? Is it emotional from a simple desire to punish America? It’s important to be strategic and right now removing tariffs will save Canadians and Canadian companies money just as higher prices are starting to hit Americans consumers…
Punishing the US is part of it, yes. For multiple reasons, not limited to tariffs. But it's more about fairness. If the US is trying to destroy Canadian industries (and living here in BC I can tell you he is - forestry is dead), there has to be pushback. This is people's livelihoods.
