Electeds have the power to fund CAHSR if they want to complete it sooner! The pace of the project is constrained by its yearly funding which electeds have control over! All CA needs to do is to fund CAHSR with 1/4 of highway funding and we have CAHSR from SF to LA in 2038

Seriously, let's just stop putting money into highway projects, period. Highways are the past. Highways divide communities and contribute to climate change. If local cities/counties want to fund their highways, let them. But the state and state agencies should focus on rail

Someone needs to fill potholes, sure. But a pothole on the freeway should be filled by the same entity that will fix a pothole at the signal half a mile from the freeway onramp. The freeways are built now; hand them over to local control like regular roads

As a California driver, I have to ask: Potholes get fixed?

We spend $20B every year on highways! We have built ourselves into an expensive hole by building too many highways and not enough transit.

The collective waste of car infrastructure is mind boggling, and so normalized no one questions the cost of highways but literally any price tag on public transit is treated like robbery (because “taxpayers” are implicitly homeowners who never take the bus)
