There's no good way to conduct sustained military operations in Latin America. That's an absolute nightmare.

YUP. The people *who live there* can't even reliably access much of their own countries and create permanent infrastructure there because it's just so difficult. And people want to march armies into that territory? That's a great way to lose armies.
