It’s hard to get rid of the Electoral College, because it’s in the Constitution, but there is a fix that can be done. The electors should not be winner-take-all by state. (In fact, they are plurality-take-all in 48 states.) That’s what actually distorts the outcome the most. That can be fixed.

You're probably right. I think freedom of speech, is speech that isn't paid for. Stand on a street corner and say whatever you want. But if you pay or are paid to reach an audience of say more than a 1000, then inflammatory rhetoric should have consequences.

The problem was necessarily the electoral collage although the EC has outlived its usefulness. It was devised when we still had the piney express and it took time to get the vote counted. It did move to distribute a fair voting system that was destroyed by gerrymandering of republicans. 🤔🤨🦅
