Impressions of what I was able to play (the run of three Journey Mode skins) ✅ - great experience on steam deck (docked) without any additional config. Looks gorgeous and runs perfectly. Felt like 60fps (didn't check) ❓ - it throws a LOT more of those linky-combo blocks at you than previous games
⁉️ - the zooming in and out got on my nerves big time ✅ - but there's a very thorough accessibility menu that lets you turn all that stuff down/off ✅ - visual art direction (assets and the way everything moves) is lush and a clear evolution of everything from tetris effect
🤒 - why is it being such a fucking cop about my controller dude. It worked one time and now it won't recognise it no matter what I do - I do not care for the Move A Little Guy Around style of UI and I think it should be abolished
👎 - as much as I love how it looks and feels... the music is not good. I actually hate it a lot. Lumines' identity has always been cool funky quirky Japanese dance/techno (and charmingly incongruous licensed tunes) but the three skins in the demo are the most fucking boring rancid-ass EDM imaginable
Like this is what I want out of a Lumines game. The songs in the demo are like. Fake nightclub music from mass effect. Impossible for me to overstate how disappointed I am by what I've heard so far Gonna wait for reviews on this one
I wanted Girls HDR 4K but I got david cage in da club instead. Bereft
Attempted to play the multiplayer mode and it errored out three times so I guess that's a no go
