What's really great is this was only about 10% of this year's crop. I've been pulling up about 10-15% every week for the weekly farmer's market

Every time I grow carrots they look GREAT until I pull them up, and then I realize they're little radish-shaped carrot nubs. I grow wonderful zucchini and tomatoes, I got fantastic pumpkins this year, but the carrots are a mess.

I think you need fairly loamy soil. If you have a lot of clay they just can't get down deep
