What's for Easter supper? Besides ham or turkey
What's for Easter supper? Besides ham or turkey
We’re making a homemade lasagna with homemade pasta noodles 😍
Yummmm. Homemade noodles are next level 👌🏼
We are a ham family. Sides will be potatoes, turnips, peas and carrots. Probably also some Harvard beets? Bread rolls to be supplied by yours truly (doing my baking tomorrow).
We are going out. My husband was proactive and booked us at an Easter buffet at a lovely restaurant. He has his moments. 🙂
Oouu amazing!
It’s even a reasonable price. He did well!
I love it! I hope it's tasty 😍
Snacks. Spanish style potatoes Balsamic roasted brussels Mushroom and garlic toasts Baba ganoush & hummus Halloumi tomato salad And deviled Eggs, which go with none of that, but its not a holiday of any sort without them.
What makes your potatoes Spanish style? This all sounds delightful
The name of the recipe only, because they're certainly not patatas bravas.🤣 www.tastingtable.com/686899/twice...
I like that they have Italian seasoning 🤣
Garlic, parsley, salt pepper and butter. What could go wrong!?
Truly, it's just the basics!
I never did figure out anything for dessert. I thought about using the puff pastry, but that was the extent of the thought. Have you used yours yet?
No, we haven't. I keep thinking oh we should save it for a special occasion, but also, we should just use it lol Only 1 croissant left though
That's what I've been saving it for, too. Apparently, Easter does not rank. Im hoarding the croissants too, for reasons completely unknown to me.
Easter is a mere blip
Lamb. Easter is lamb.
Same here. Nice roast.
I've yet to eat a lamb I like. I want to! It just hasn't happened yet
going to be at family gathering eating something savoury. then my mom will have a few boxes of desserts for me. I’m five 😂
Upholding traditions I see 🤣
We're doing salmon
Turkey at my mom’s, then ham at our house. But seeing turkey and cranberry pie in your other replies has me thinking about new options for next year!
I know that sounds really tasty!!
Ham, scalloped potatoes, asparagus
Love a good scalloped potato
Roast beef for us, the guys aren't huge fans of turkey or ham. I got an Australian one at Sobeys, I'm hoping it will be OK.
I'd much prefer beef too. I saw the Australian beef debate on Facebook.. I'm sure it'll be much better than the Mexican stuff!
I've seen the Mexican beef but never bought it, largely because it was 'ungraded' and not any cheaper than other beef that was available. That could be a grade that is more suitable for stew than roast beef but no way to really know other than looking at it.
Yeah, the ungraded weirds me out a little. I'm sure it's fine, but it make me uneasy
We are smoking up a BBQ fatty at home but turkey at the in laws. I can no longer do more than one Turkey because I’m so tired of turkey honestly. Lol www.traeger.com/recipes/spic...
I went the Great British Shop in Bayer’s lake yesterday and got a turkey and cran pie for today, and tomorrow I’m gonna go grab a râpure from Sobeys and that will be dinner on Sunday. It’s also 4/20, so there will be a lot of snacks for munchies.
Turkey and cran pie sounds amazing.
Oh my gosh, amazing 🤤
I don’t really do much for Easter. Not really a big holiday person, and my family sucks, so I don’t do holiday gatherings and stay home, but I do like good food.
We're not super big on holidays, but I like any excuse for good food too 😅
For the last few years we did a Greek roast lamb, lemon potatoes, the whole bit - but lamb was so expensive this year on top of everything else we just couldn't. So, ham, potato salad, and tomorrow while it's raining and miserable out I'm going to tackle molasses oatmeal bread.
Your dinner sounds delicious!
i'm kind of excited about the bread. i haven't made it in years but it was my favourite as a kid. fingers crossed!
My mom is from the east coast and my family is still there so I have an affinity for anything with molasses honestly. I’m sure it will be fantastic. ❤️
I'll post a picture, if it turns out. Or even if it doesn't!
Oh yes please do.
Oooh molasses bread is delicious. Making some sounds like a really great idea 🤤
Oouu molasses bread 🤤
Mum always only made it at Easter so it's got a strong nostalgia component for me, plus it's just delicious, so I'm going to be waddling back to work on Tuesday Just made of bread and mini eggs
That sounds absolutely delightful
I usually do a turkey dinner. This year we’re doing Chinese take out.
Oou that's a fun change! Turkey dinner's too much work haha
Ham. Scalloped potatoes with blue cheese and roasted garlic, asparagus, and carrots.
You lost me at ham 🤣
