some terrific books i read while the world is on fire: TUSKS OF EXTINCTION - Ray Nayler if Jurassic Park had a conscience and consequences. leaving me gutted and thinking of the *shoulds* of the *could.* and why *shouldn't*

I loved this one too!
THE STARVING SAINTS - Caitlin Starling started me off hungry, then put me off my snacks in a most furious page turning horrific cannibal fasion. fantasy horror at its grossest.
HAUNT SWEET HOME - Sarah Pinsker listened on audiobook and do this if you can! full cast and great fun execution. a terrific horror book that flips on its end with Knives Out / Glass Onion precision.
also read an ARC of a book that kept me up TWO WHOLE NIGHTS. no book has done this since i was 17. dunno if i'm allowed to talk about this book this publicly, but i cannot WAIT to.
STAG DANCE - Torrey Peters a book in stories and a novella that had me going back to it and back to it. pausing in conversation to think about it. messy trans femme in every aspect and deft in every word choice.
THE DROWNED MAN'S DAUGHTER - CJ Lavigne this one comes out this month and i swear that all of you who love to immerse yourself in a good dark story? you wanna READ THIS ONE.
SUPER GAY POEMS - edited by Stephanie Burt this book is not only a crash poetic course in *terrific poetry* but also a crash course in queer history. big recommend. do love.
THIS WORLD IS NOT OURS - Kemi Ashing Giwa do you like off planet relationship drama in your sci-fi horror? then this novella is for *you!* an absolutely twist turn of a fun creepy read.
