I think the walk from the lots vs. fraternity/sorority row is pretty comparable depending on which lot you’re in, but can’t beat the price of parking in the Hill. 🅿️

I parked in the (free) 29th street mall garage which my watch pegged at right about 1 mile.
This kind of convo really turns me off of a venue tbh. A car-required place where to figure out parking you have to do research, and even then don’t know for sure where you’re headed *while* you’re headed there? Bah.
There were official lots too that Phish announced but the quest was for free parking!
Official lots you have to pay for? Even worse! How much? But seriously, 1 mile is not a reasonable walk for *many* people who may not even fall into the category of needing accommodations. Otherwise the reports from FF sound good! Not necessarily preferable to alternatives, but solidly Fine
One hopes there is ADA parking and access even given the age of the venue. Campus facilities are very vulnerable to ADA/a11y access lawsuits
This was meant as a "yes, and" BTW not disagreement
The map I posted had some ADA lots, but the access... that was questionable. When we were loading in the Mockingbird stuff, we had to carry it up stairs and there was no alternate way to that spot from where we were.
Sketchy. Which is interesting. Public universities have a very high compliance burden. Perhaps the required lawsuit has not yet been filed.
It COULD have been done if not for security requirements. A path existed but it was on the wrong side of the checkpoints for this event. I think if you went into the stands entrance and then went via the fieldhouse, you could get to some of the stands without any stairs.
Ah, so the *facility* is likely compliant *if your event uses it right* That's probably true a lot
And this was a pretty edge case only involving the dozen or so people who were staffing volunteer tables. They probably would have found a workaround if really needed.
Like take the path up the hill, go to the staff entrance and into the fieldhouse from there would have been no stairs I think.
Parked in the Ada lot across from the stadium with my dad (79). He walks with a cane, and didn’t have much trouble. We sat in the corner of the lower bowl page side. Went down as far as the handrail went, which wasn’t all the way. Maybe 15 rows from the bottom.
That's good to hear. Sounds like a fine experience. Dad have fun?
The handrail not going all the way was the thing that shocked me. Well that and the gratuitous stairs that you had to go up before you could go down into the venue Fish side.
In my experience with old campus venues there is limited ADA access to get some fans to some locations in the stands, but not everywhere and if it's a different type of event (concert at a football field) not always easy
That's exactly how this felt in that I think they could have been able to move people Page side flush with the fieldhouse.
Which is why I said that that was a con. I enjoyed it but I know it would be an issue for others. There WERE people running pedicabs to cars but let's not talk about what they were apparently charging.
Oh that is perfect!
It was a PT suggestion. The cons were the hill and crossing 28th, but once I got to my car it was a straight shot to Broomfield and I could get post show cookies at the Whole Fud and not worry about them melting in the sun when I was at the show.
