I agree; the US has always been a not very plausible fiction, and even the blood letting of the Civil War failed to make it a real Union. Alabama has as little in common with Washington as Romania does with France. Break it up, and substitute an EU-type economic agreement. Let the culture issues go

I wouldn’t even do an economic union. We’ve seen how republican economic policies have run red states into the ground. I say complete independence and allow each state to make their own political and economic decisions. No more red state mooching.

The problem with the idea is that it's not red and blue states - it's people. More than 4 out of 10 voted for Kamala in AZ, FL, TX, NC, SC, OH, IA, MO (and many 'blue' states had substantial Trump votes). Others like PA and MI are almost dead even splits. There could never be a geographic reckoning.

I realize it’s a mess and isn’t easily solved. Maybe we could just repeal moneys speech, improve education, end the EC and gerrymandering, make it easier to vote, go to one person one vote, increase the number of senators for the most populous states, expand the House from 435, end life appts for

Citizens United was a dagger thrust in the heart of democracy. The Supreme Court however will never ever admit it was wrong.
