Instead of playing along with the Supreme Court’s dishonest casuistry of claiming to discern the founders’ original intent in the Constitution, I say we forget that instead return to the plain language of the real founding document, the Declaration, which is all about refusing and resisting tyranny.

Pass the We The People Amendment. End corporate power and get money out of politics. MovetoAmend.

Tis a good idea. However, this nation has been arguing that point back and forth for just about 200 years. So far, we keep fucking ourselves in the ass over it. Soooo, I don't expect much change in that situation anytime soon👽

Remember that none of the 'originalists' is advocating undoing the 'activist judges' who turned the Second Amendment (which the Founding Fathers used to confiscate guns from law abiding citizens) into a weapon against gun control.

The Supreme Court which in an unsigned shadow docket said people can just be shackled at will and sent by military transport to Sudan seem never to have read any of this—including the business about “inalienable rights.” What a bunch of cretins.

Overthrow the scotus. It’s not an impartial branch of government and it’s been to deeply corrupted by corporate interests to be saved.

We should all just ignore the constitution. It was written by some of the most immoral people in history.

Attorneys swear an oath to the constitution not to SCOTUS. Lower courts should not follow unconstitutional opinions by SCOTUS. Perhaps then they will think twice before issuing unconstitutional opinions

The idea that unaccountable unelected politicians in robes should have the final say about the Constitution reeks of corruption. But most lawyers and judges just seem to be witless toadies that “do as we’re told.”

They need to interpret the second amendment with muskets in mind. If it doesn’t require a ramrod civilians can’t own that gun. But, I guess only they can have it both ways

Yes and no. A proper reading of the 2Am is that it guarantees the right for states to maintain militias. The RKBA is intended to facilitate revolution ... and sits there in the 9th right next to the right to abort an unwanted pregnancy. Dobbs is not originalism.

Originalism is bullcrap and the proof is women and people of color sitting on the court. Neither could vote, own land, or were even free to choose their destiny much less sit on the high court.

Of course it’s bullcrap. I’m sure even they know it. But like the Renaissance pope supposedly said about another con, “This fiction of Jesus Christ has been tremendously profitable for us.”

Yes. The Supreme Court seems to arrogate to itself the arbitration of rights, as if they can mete them out or reel them back in at will, but the Declaration of Independence says that our rights exist independent of the government, derived from natural law, only to be secured by government.

The Declaration talks about inalienable rights. Justice Uncle Clarence thinks that means the right to possess an AK-47 or two and, apparently, for him as a black man to marry a white woman. Justice jug ears Roberts thinks it means the right of a horrible felon rapist to reign as King.

The current government, from top to bottom has become a budding, corrupt dictatorship. We can no longer trust the Supreme Court to defend the intent of the Constitution. If we want our country back we must be prepared bear arms and take it back
