The school shooting in Minneapolis, the ICE thuggery and National Guard occupation of DC, the utter chaos at the CDC—I really think that Covid broke us as a people.

It was the guy who let Covid run wild while his family profited from it.
A different POTUS would’ve led us better. COVID was a catalyst that enhanced his toxicity.
Yes that is very true. The country made a terrible mistake voting him in during 2016, and he was the last person to lead us in a real (as opposed to made up) crisis. I’ll never forget “inject them with bleach.”
If Covid hadn’t hit, this shot would have happened in the first administration
*shit
#Covid impacted many in the #USA and the world. Having a #Psychopath in charge during such a critical period was destined to fail. If we had an #Adult in charge we could have saved so many lives. Trump inspired the anti-vax theory with his #MAGA base. Can’t blame #Covid for this disaster
An epidemic would have been difficult to manage under any circumstances—as in Europe for instance. But it was catastrophic in the US because of Trump, as you say. And inevitably we will face another catastrophe—a 9/11, a Katrina, an epidemic— and we will be whipsawed yet again.
It wasn’t COVID, Bill.
It broke them. They couldn’t handle that their God and privilege couldn’t save them anymore.
Nah, we have been on a downward slide since the 1960s, but they kept telling us how great the United States was. We never looked around to see if it was true. It wasn't.
No it was the conman Trump.
It was racist white ppl
This country was sick way before covid hit and the lockdown began in March 2020. The Chump won the election well before them; gun violence was an issue as was police violence. It's just become exacerbated under this monstrous regime! This is a living nightmare!
It was the Civil War and the refusal to destroy the South and its traitors that broke this country.
Yes; the only thing the Civil War accomplished was to hold the country forcibly together with duct tape and baling wire. Nominally we “saved” the Union. In reality the Union never existed in the hearts of people. Now we are as riven as we have ever been.
It was trumps handling of it that broke us.
Covid is taking all the good jobs...Covid is eating the cats...it's eating the dogs...it's eating your pets...nope, it's this motherfucker...
Don’t blame Covid. Blame Trump!
It was a perfect storm: Trump and Covid
I blame Trump for the impact of Covid on the population of the USA. Lest we forget (see image) -
Yes and a large part of the US “intelligentsia” (the whole Republican Party and MAGA) went along with it—and still do (Senator Cassidy a doctor on RFK, Jr vaccine denier in chief)
Intelligentsia! Really? Clowns!
In my defense I did put it in quotes for irony’s sake
It changed minds and spirit. We are broken and in transition.
No, it was Milton Freeman and Reagan, Larry Summers and Robert Rubin, 9/11 and the ill-calibrated reaction to it (Bin Laden never dreamed to be so effective), then 2008 and the Obama restoration thereafter. Covid just exposed the rot festering under the hood.
