Was looking for good writing about the protests, and instead I found this article, which pissed me off right from the opening.

There is one skill remaining at which the NY Times truly excels: maximizing vacuous word counts. It takes hard work to be this bad with such consistency. Had she quietly died a decade or so ago, we might mourn her passing. Will the stench never cease to emanate from the Gray Lady's carcass? 💀
It was meh, ok for the NYT except for the insane “happy homeless ppl who love encampment clearings and military on the ground” section. Which was unconscionable given they talked to zero advocates or Street Sense folks or anyone other than the one dude.
Speaking of which @jesserbnwtz.bsky.social time for somebody on your press team to complain to their editor about this.
nah it was straight trash, from opening line to calling journalists random washingtonians to the very end.
I think my expectations are already so low I was just happy it wasn’t a “but crime really is a problem here” full on piece.
Oh I clearly didn’t read it that closely. I did hate the opening like “real ppl don’t live here, but surprise some of them do!”
Boooooo
like get the fuck out of here if you hate it so bad. go back to nyc.
