frankly i am already tired of explaining very basic stuff about life in the dmv to people who live hundreds or thousands of miles away, yet act as authorities on the area. either help us or leave us alone.

I can’t believe there’s a Wendy’s, Amanda. That’s the real story here
haven't lived there since 2022 and yet people are acting like I'm in constant contact with my friends still in DC/NoVA.
Did we leave DC the same year? Wild
i got to minneapolis on J6 2022 and i had some VERY strong feeling. i miss DC a lot and i regret leaving. 😭 go gophers.
Whoa are you saying they shut down some access points to a military facility at night? And even if you’re on call for an emergency you may have to go long way round?
Used to live on Capitol Hill and traffic fucking sucked for every variety of reasons, mostly the VP at the time going home during the day
Sorry. :-(
I know you don't mean the Department of Motor Vehicles, but I'm amused that my brain thought that's what it was.
Everyone got their masters in Everything DC over the last week and now we all suffer for it.
Insufferable
One of the cool things about here is any time something region specific happens someone local makes a starter pack of folks on the ground. I love it. No need for speculation from hundreds of miles away - hear it direct instead!
like 100,000 journalists are crammed into this city, idk why we need becky baking bullshit in toledo!!
It's worse because of how incredibly easy is is to follow local journalists here. Come on folks.
Even as someone who lives hundreds or thousands of miles away, I've always just assumed that the traffic there is constantly being redirected around this or that motorcade or whatever, for mostly pretty mundane reasons
It was a running joke when I was growing up there 30-mumble years ago that getting stuck behind a motorcade was a legit reason for being late to work, and I can't imagine that's changed.
I’m really surprised there’s a Wendy’s there too
Yeah, I thought Burger King had the NEX contract in perpetuity.
