I'm sure this has been answered someplace and I just haven't seen it, but if the problem is the venue, then why didn't this happen when NXT ran there?

because AEW is doing a longterm booking vs NXT doing a one time thing, the union doesn't actually give a shit about the AEW vs WWE rivalry it's literally just a scale issue
