My family and I had a very similar conversation this morning re: about not feeling patriotic today. I said maybe it’s time we felt more patriotic, as in taking back our country from these fascist bastards.

Indeed. Patriotism is more a set of actions to engage in than a state of mind to enjoy. The enjoyment follows the success of the rights and freedoms defending actions.
