I'm working with a group that follows AP style, for somewhat understandable reasons. I find myself changing my commas for them.... I don't want to be found out as a Chicago fanboy 🤐 The act of willfully dropping it, even if it's in order to pass amongst these adherents, feels wholly sinister.
Adherents often claim AP style values brevity, but can't explain the extra spaces around em dashes!!!
And yet, "white supremacists, TERFs and people who don't use Oxford commas" is kinda grammatically correct
do you have any idea how tempted i was to leave out the oxford comma in that post
