That’s the process.🇺🇸 My grandparents did it. They waited their turn. Had to have $5,000 in the bank, had to have employment in advance, have a 2 American families vouch for them, take the test, renounce England, & swear to adopt American customs. Don’t like it? Maybe America is not be for them.

That hasn't been the process for 200 years. And unless you're living in a TeePee, your ancestors were free to bring their culture to America with them. You SURE you're not North Korean?

Yeah you should look into it. The naturalization process requires that the applicant renounce their country of origin, as well as bear true faith and loyalty to the United States. Them just skipping the line is a big fuck you to every immigrant who did it the right way. To those, I say WELCOME!

I'd rather not live in North Korea. The song I know says "I'm proud to be an American, where at least I know I'm free." Telling people you're only allowed to be "free" here a specific way ain't freedom. But we can disagree. I appreciate the conversation.

That’s the price of admission. The rest are being deported. Or, it sounds like most are taking the money and free trip home voluntarily. Smarter play if you ask me. They still have a shot at re-entry.

It's not. As I said, that hasn't been the process for a very long time. You're thinking of North Korea.

I checked that before I doubled down on it. I appreciate the conversation too.
