Yes, they will be immune from suit. The speech and debate clause exists. But there is just no way to sue them for their official acts. It doesn’t really make sense as a legal concept.

Elected officials are not immune from anything just because the supreme Court decided that presidents can do whatever the f*** they want doesn't mean that that's not insane or unconstitutional. There's citizens just like we are. They're not immune from their depravity or the consequences of it.

And yet, some people sued Trump in civil court for the pain and suffering he caused on Jan. 6th, one of whom was Adam Kinzinger. So there is precedent.
