Noticing a lot of folks quietly, gradually sliding back to Twitter
I have to check it for work reasons and it always seems like such a total cesspit that I really couldn’t face that. But I’m losing hope that bsky finds a way through, and I genuinely think that’s a shame (responses to this thread aside).
I did this a bit but the whole Twitter experience began to poison my brain. All the casual racism was utterly grim and actually depressing.
Have you considered that people being mean about the "wrongthink" of racists are just as bad, if not worse than racists?
Yes, many times. But then I rejected the false equivalence you are attempting. Enjoy the rest of your day.
Typical moral puritan, dismissing the reasonable concerns of well-meaning people...
Not a place for conversation. And the suggested content, the algorithmic wallpaper of the place, is pure chaos.
It’s worse than chaos! It’s miserable and upsetting and pushes you to seeing the world as darker than it is.
I used to love Twitter but X is horrific. I valiantly tried to stay on there for the whimsical humour and its sports coverage but having to wade through all the racist shit to read a post from someone I actually followed was literally depressing me.
Exactly my experience.
It just got ridiculous. Constantly seeing posts from MAGA deadheads and accounts I had actually blocked just because someone else had reposted their bigoted shite wasn't worth the effort. Spending so long blocking accounts just to have other similar ones pop up uninvited was a waste of my time.
It’s spectacular. Do people not feel grubby being anonymous misanthropes, racists and catastrophists? Who are these folks?!
Ewww.... I just couldn't.
