Many of us live in apartments. I can grow a few herbs on my windowsill but not everyone has a place to grow food.

That’s why community is more important than ever now. I can’t grow much on my boat but I have other skills to help my neighbors who have large gardens - we trade and help each other! 💙
Love this idea! Yes, what can we each bring to the table. And for those of us with chronic pain or illness or other disabilities maybe what you bring to the table is an ear, or great jokes, or sourdough starter. We all have ways and means to work together. Money doesn’t have to be part of the system
Exactly. Community has always been important for human survival. Here we do have a few elders who need extra support and we take turns - it enriches all of us. Listening, checking in, sharing meals, exchanging what we can. No money involved.
Nor should they have to because of a bunch of racist psychos getting richer while they deliberately starve people.
you are absolutely right, and it was shortsighted of me to not remember that. I apologize. I have lived in apartments before I happen to live in right now.
Thanks for the understanding! Any tips for apartment dwellers? I do try to get to the local farmers markets when I can.
Community gardens? We have one in the tiny town I live in. You purchase as many boxes as you can (or as many as they’ll let you) and then get to know the other gardeners. Also, if you have a balcony or patio do some potted gardening (hanging tomatoes, lettuces in railing planters or window boxes).
You just need a few square feet for a Greenstalk. Big window, balcony, or grow lights in a closet. Got roof access?
No but the closet idea might work!
