Bingo. In other countries the population is more concentrated. Momentum builds when crowds gather

There are also much better worker protection laws (at least in Europe) you can’t get fired for taking a day off to protest, and if you do, you still have a pension, healthcare, childcare, etc. Here it would take three days to protest effectively in DC: 2 for travel, 1 for protest + poss. get fired.
Traveling last minute DC on delta from Phoenix for example—$680 and all day. And if you protest on the street corner with a hundred like minded folks, who’s going to pay attention?
Exactly. Figure two flights or train trips (1day each) and 2 nights motel + expenses, IF you have the available $$$ AND can take time off work, have someone get your kids to school, etc.
Plus they might conceivably shoot into the crowd here, which probably doesn't occur in at least the European countries.
that's why new york works... many of us are spread out
Protesting at State Capitol buildings is beneficial. California is huge, so having more in large cities is good too.
Check out the map at handsoff2025.com There are many protests being planned for April 5th all over CA!
Thanks! I am attending and gathering friends to join me.
Unless you are on cocaine or speed, you cannot drive from San Diego to the border with Oregon in a single day. Very different terrain, north of Redding is a windy and windy nightmare full of fog and car sickness.
I had to giggle at your response. You’ve clearly driven this route.
I keep saying this to people who ask why can Syria, South Korea, Serbia, and now Turkey do it and not the US. I’m missing a couple of other countries, but for pete’s sake all of those countries can fit in the US with room to spare. It’s a 6 hour flight from San Francisco to DC.
