the problem is creep. as has been demonstrated in recent months they cannot fucking help themselves. nom nom nom. more civil liberties please. i need them to vomit into the mouths of my political class children to create a new generation.

Yeah used to feel like this but candidly I know governments did the exercise of linking up all the movement of private individuals a decade ago: ID cards make it public now & also does things like start to Squash the various forms of tax evasion that is the actual UK problem

The British state likes to use the current system to its advantage See Windrush It’s partly why they refused to give EU citz evidence of settled status - the resulting uncertainty is desirable for the state
