Pets are individuals, just like people. My daughter, had a severe reaction to the pertussis vax. Was hospitalized for it. She still was vaxed for the dyptheria and tetnus part. Even with your cat's RARE reaction, that does NOT mean vaccines are bad.

No of course not! Like I said, not being able to vax him leaves me living in fear of something going sideways.

My younger daughter had a severe reaction to her very first DPT vax at 6 weeks of age. It was a 1 in 300,000 reaction, likely to the pertussis component. Theoretically it shouldn’t have happened as it was her first vax. She still had the rest of her vaccinations, but she is cautious.

My oldest had the same. It was awful, at 6 weeks she had to go into the ICU.
