Fast-growing and increasingly diverse Texas, where no Democrat has won statewide since 1994, is a good example of the depressing effect of one-party domination. Last year, voter registration reached a record, but turnout fell. It was 2nd lowest in the country. (1/2)

Supreme Court pretended to float above political questions but imo only undermined its own authority Pritzker is right to say in effect that partisanship on behalf of our democratic republic requires extraordinary responses
