I’m an ex-Catholic but this new pope is an American/Peruvian & was head of a parish in Peru & is a Peruvian citizen. So he hasn’t been in the U.S. in a very long time. There was a reason Pope Francis wanted this man 2 succeed him. He brought him 2 Rome in 2015 to head the Latin American contingency
