They live in their own world of facts. Just recently my son sent me some "news" on how terrible Dems are. He always says, "You can't make this up." And so I fact checked it and sent him the article. Then he sends one back to prove his point & it's from a site I've never heard of.

I looked up that site. It's not reputable. But he would rather believe that because it supports his narrative. They are angry and facts don't penetrate their bubble.

It's tough! Ive antivaxxers and Alex Jones listeners to contend with, who don't have science ed to combat some of the sillier conspiracies (chemtrails etc). Ppl are allowed to have their opinions, obvi, but we don't have to agree w them! You cld play hardball and make him prove to you instead!

I think fact-checking can get ppl's back's up bc it brings them back to school or elsewhere where they feel/felt stupid for being wrong. Having the wrong info doesn't make you stupid! It makes you misinformed. Can you confirm info thru international sources? If there a source you both can agree on?
