Trump's "One Big Beautiful Bill" came unglued overnight. GOP has run into problems with Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski, who wants her state exempted from Medicaid cuts. We're in a holding pattern while they try to work out a deal. Not a lot of progress being made. This bill is on the ropes.

Don't celebrate until it's completely defeated. There's nothing good in the bill so anything that is still left and passes, the result will still be horrible.
If they stick together, Sens. Murkowski and Collins now wield a de facto veto. Why should they settle for minor concessions limited to Alaska and Maine when they can force a major rewrite of the bill generally (or kill it outright)?!
Because they're fine with cruelty to the other 48 states, as long as they get to keep their jobs.
Murkowski is clear eyed how awful these Medicaid cuts. She knows who they will hurt. Yet, as long as her state isn’t affected, she’ll be ok with it? That’s no action of a leader or public servant! That’s the behavior of someone looking out for themselves and no one else.

Absolutely insane to me that there could be a single state carve out on a bill like this. The audacity to even ask for it is mind blowing.
