Thanks Jacob (& WSJ)for reporting on this issue. (Seemed obvious it was coming after Bondi’s memo.) Strangling the IRS’ ability to communicate with taxpayers is going to suck for professionals & laypeople alike, and I suspect will contribute to more scams and fraud.

If they'd just chop their inefficiencies, ... After filing 2024 return in March '25, in June and July requested transcript. Got 3 pages of nothing each time saying "we haven't received return" but they had it, cashed my check on day they got it in March.

I have to assume the play here is: -Make it hard or impossible for non-English speakers to pay taxes on time -When they fail to pay on time, use it as a basis for revoking the legal status of non-citizens -Deport them
