Opinion pages to feature...fewer opinions. Seems smart.

I have just cancelled my subscription. May I suggest everyone else does too.
All The Presidents Views.
WaPo: Democracy Dies in Darkness Bezos: Yes! Let's do that.
So anti-tariffs and pro-trans, right?
Well certainly the former. But it could mean the latter too. The guy's a stone cold coward though, so almost certainly not. They are terrified of the Orange buffoon. And yet, all said and done, he'll be dead in a few years.
“We’ll be searching for a new Opinion Editor but this one will have to be a total ‘yes man’ who does exactly as he’s told”.
And absolutely does not have an opinion :-)
In other news, Lewis does 'irony' 👏
How else to make sure those opinions are the 'right' (by which we mean right) opinions?
Fewer opinions but many more takes.
Where's that editorial independence from the owner now?
Who is “we” in this context?
What we? I'm basically drawing contrast to the wapo story before the election where they tried to pretend bezos wasn't involved, now he's openly trying to use it to promote his views.
The “we” that Bezos uses in his note.
Ah, royal we I guess!
He's saying "freedom is ethical" but imposing restrictions on the types of opinion pieces that will be published...make it make sense! 😵💫
I think it will only feature one person's opinion.....
In support of liberties, I am restricting your liberties.
Less opinion, more propaganda
I don't think they'll write in support of personal liberties. It would require being critical of Trumps fascism.
And all in the name of freedom...
I wrote a piece for them about a populist mogul who attacked the press. That was two years ago: www.washingtonpost.com/history/2023...
America, you’re buggered!
Aren’t they the ones always complaining about ‘left wing echo chambers’?

Woah!! Wait until the free speech champs hear about this
I do nazi the problem with this at all.
I'm sad I cancelled my subscription when Bezos vetoed the Harris endorsement; I could have done so today. To think the newspaper that broke the Watergate scandal has come to this. What Bezos has vetoed this time is courageous journalism, once the foundation of the Washington Post.
This is like reading one of Kemi’s incoherent speeches…
