If you say starving all they have to do is find one example of an overweight person using the service or someone that only needs help at the end of the month and they can say "well look at all this fraud and waste" whether we use simple terms or accurate ones we still lose ultimately.

I know that, do the dishonest people dedicated to destroying our country know that or care? Does the reactionary low-infomation voter know or care? If not then there is no difference between starving and food insecure in the political realm.

Yes. Quibbling over what terms we use is a waste. voters who are put off by “highbrow” language are lost to us anyway. We should say the same things using ALL the words, highbrow and otherwise, to reach as many as possible. But “our” messages don’t get through except as misinfo from opponents
