I myself do not know about *deserve* in this case, but make no mistake: the central draw of driving a TSLA must surely be the feeling of daring and bravado in doing so, half-acknowledging that the technology is janky and badly built and yet aggressively not caring because it's so exciting, innit??

The racism, tying in to the feeling of being on the road in a car that practically demands an entire city block to itself because it's so ungainly and lumbering. People buy these things because they want to be aggressively shitty
TeSSla used to be the best electric car. It still is the best on some fronts, but safety is not among those. Overpromising and underdelivering "full self driving" together with being an extreme escape room experience when anything goes wrong are the worst parts.
Like, some of the older regular cars and the app are still good on the EV scene, but no amount of "just get a used Model 3, you're not directly giving Musk money" could convince me to sully my image by becoming in any way associated with him, on the hunt for a new (used) car
(and to be clear I did save up over some years and finally replace my ancient car... with a used Bolt. Fuck Tesla)
