I always blame the short comings of society for gun crimes! The lack of early childhood care, proper early nutrition, quality K-12 education taught by quality people! A paid 4yr trades apprenticeship or 4 degree! Jobs in rebuilding earth not buildings battlefield equality 4all! No need to grab a gun

I agree.Young kids today are exposed to way more horrors at the age my generation was mostly learning about helping others, empathy, compassion etc,todays kids are into horror movies and violent video games. At that age I was into pac man. Raised by my grandparents, we learned a few good morals etc
I was only white on my block 63-70 i saw men shot, blacks drug from cars & beat, early bloods/crips violence i watched the national guard march down my street in 65 to riots, 50 cals on jeeps I’ve cleaned blood from men shot playing craps next 2 liquor store i worked @ @ 14 that formed my empathy
It's amazing how life's experiences can make one person empathetic, compassionate and the same experiences make another person just the opposite. My childhood wasn't pleasant but, like you, it made me more compassionate and empathetic for the sufferings of others.
I agree I saw the hatred against blacks. I saw the violence perpetrator against them. Yeah I had to fight my way through the block day and day out, but it wasn’t because I was hated. It’s because we were all in a fuck situation fighting to get out!
I still smell those pissy floors sometimes.
I felt some racism myself. In 1974 Little Rock AR. I had a black running buddy. Cops warned us several times that blacks & whts didn't associate there.1 nite I was grabed up,taken to jail,put on the floor handcuffed with hands around the toilet & they took turns all night walking by & pissed on me.
