I have had an all Apple household for at least 20 years. I am done buying Apple products.

Frankly, how are other choices better, unless you're running Linux and degoogled android? Coming from someone who had long run Linux, and keeps thinking about degoogled android. You're giving up a lot of usability. Google is no more your friend than Apple, who at least has figured out AI is a grift.

I want choices, but right now, you have two bad ones, and Linux needs a support person.

I'm not very tech savvy so I asked my adult kids about Linux. My son said even his technologically gifted friends are afraid of Linux. Which was a bit disappointing. Pretty sick of the corporate options.

It's not that bad these days. Of course, who installs Windows from scratch? Ubuntu is pretty straightforward, you can run it off a flash drive if you want to try it out. Most but not all hardware is supported.

I hope it gets better and we get a Linux alternative to apple. It already works well for gaming thanks to steam now.
