Saturday banger
I love this song!
Awesome choice!
Just FYI- found this on official WH web page 8/30/25 College Football Is Back - Week 1 youtu.be/X5kKPJUoL7Y?...
🎶🎙️High Value Choice🎶 “There's too many kings wanna hold you down…”
Hadn't heard of them - they're good - great song!
Welcome to the early Eighties. We had lots of really great music 🎶
Play President Gas
Thank you so much Aaron the Psychedelic Furs, and much more of the '80s music Rocked I loved the 1980s it was so fun it was good times I loved everything about the '80s SIMPLE!
There’s a Heartbreak Beat, playing all night long! Down on my street! And it feels like love, got the radio on! And it’s all that we need.
Absolutely a banger
I LOOOOVE the Psychedelic Furs!
Great song 🎶 😍
Takes me back to my junior year in college when it came out. Bought the album the first day and wore it out by the end of the week.
In the day, we called them the P Furs.
I never miss a Furs show.
Highwire Days is the underrated banger on that disc 👍
They open their shows with it sometimes, great way to kick off a gig
Thanks for reminding me. I got to see them tour for this record at the State Theater (you’re from Minneapolis I think?). Summer of 1984 with another all time favorite, Talk Talk opening. Their new record was “It’s My Life”.
That would be an excellent show. Excellent.
Great song
I love them! Seeing them in concert soon and I’m so excited.
So, so good.
The whole album 👍🏻
Great voice!
I saw them in concert back in the day. Glorious.
Me too. Pine Knob just north of Detroit.
❤️
Not for him though
HS class of '79, but my heart is with 80s music. The 70s was a lumbering mess of pop music IMHO. New Wave's irresistible freshness was like Elvis & Big Bopper must have been--a renewing tide of glorious sound, feeling, & fun. I will die on this hill.
Awww I love this album. And I stand by "The Ghost in You".
Presidential term banger bsky.app/profile/slap...
The Ghost In You from this album is one of my favorites and the ending of Forever Now represents the quintessential 80s alt rock sound.
This and Heartbreak Beat......oh yea
Heartbreak Beat is my favorite song from them!
I have distinct memories of being 22 and working late into the night fixing up our first home to that cassette tape. Circa 1987 🙂
My intro to them when I was only 6. Radio was always on around me.
Been in my next to the turntable stack for weeks.
(showing my age) Psychedelic Furs were my first concert!
Love this. I remember seeing them at the Peppermint Lounge, early 80’s. Lot of their songs in my playlists.
🫡
The place he isn't going
Good group, liked
Thx for flashback
Fave P-Furs song. Loved them for decades & just as great live now as they were back in the 80’s. youtu.be/WYyGgx90f8w?...
🔥 This is a Saturday vibe if I’ve ever seen one @atrupar, you just set the weekend on fire with this one.
youtu.be/szZZBQFhAn0?... sorry but this is the shit
I saw them live at the Fox Theater in Atalanta back in ‘87. It was my very first concert.
“And a face in the glass and it looks like mine.” Gotta love Richard Butler.
Wow, nice choice. One of my fav bands, and I play drums to their songs all the time. This one has a couple of translations between the hi-hat and kick drum that's fun to play.
One of my all time favs!!!
A classic. Here’s one of my favorite underrated Furs songs. youtu.be/y8xKV01SfsU?...
This song and India are my favorites from them. 💙
My favorite band of all time, how did you know?!?
In the Trump dying genre… youtu.be/NAdlZ2F-fs8?...
Excellent song. So many good memories tied to their music. Seeing them September 22 @ The Greek Theater, Los Angeles. Cannot wait!
In my head, I keep telling myself that song was released only a few years ago. Then I remember that I bought the LP when it was released in 1984 and I feel so freakin old. 🥺
😍🔥🙌
Great record.
Appropriate song considering the state of the world. These types of songs always have the sweetest melodies. Take Boomtown Rats I Don’t Like Mondays. Horrible meaning, beautiful tune.
Entering the chat is president…
Our 6 Supreme Court Justices are traitors & should be tried and….
#genX music is the best genre! I love it when one of my kiddos callas and asks me about Duran2 or The Cars or any other 80s bands.
Is the whole of our hearts And Heaven Don't tear you apart
I'm suddenly back in high school being my best, awkward teenage self.
This song always hits!
“Heaven is the whole of our hearts.”
Heartbreak beat. Yeah, all night long.
Right back at ya youtu.be/sLm3Khusq_8?...
I still have a hard time listening to INXS since Michael Hutchence died. It seems in 1987 they were all I listened to (and watched on MTV)… makes me so sad...
I am the opposite. I wrote them off as pop and didn’t really listen to them until the last couple of years.
Michael Hutchence was the best lead singer ever. Anyone who disagrees is wrong. He had everything - generosity, charisma, beauty, talent and brains. My modern candidates - Matty Healy, Matt Berninger, Grian Chatten, Kele Okereke - close, but just not quite there.
I was fortunate enough to see them open for Adam Ant in 1984. Life was never the same. He had the audience in their feet in no time.
What an opener! In 1985 I worked in London for a while for a company that produced American football and other sports programs for British TV. Adam Ant's secretary had her office on the same floor and he'd walk through our reception once in a while, dressed like he was on stage ...
Oh wow! I probably would have fainted! That’s wild- obviously way before he started getting stalkers. Always thought Johnny Depp’s Jack Sparrow was a mix of Keith Richards & Adam.
he put on a helluva show.
Never got to see him ... I love watching clips from their 1991 Wembley gig.
3rd row. 1987 Richmond VA. Top 10 show for sure. He had THE charisma.
My favorite 80s band and one of my top 10 favorite songs by anyone ever. Way overdue for the rock and roll hall of fame.
One of my five all-time favorite songs 👍
Turn up 'Here Come Cowboys', 'The Ghost in You' and 'Highwire Days.'
Heartbeat and My Life for that Mars Williams (RIP) sax. Also played the solo for Catch My Fall by Billy Idol. 🎵IF I SHOULD STUMBLE! 🎵
Good stuff.👍
Great choice. I don’t think folks realize how many great songs the Furs had…. they were part of my high school years soundtrack for sure, brings back (mostly) great memories. Thanks for posting, Aaron.
That snare shot right off the top. Beautiful.
Love the Furs.
For the people who love the New Wave 80s, these guys are amazing. New album drops soon, seeing them in October. They need more attention. Every song is fantastic. www.youtube.com/watch?v=xjCg...
Yep. One of the best albums of the 80s.
My wife and I are seeing them in October in Chicago.
This Works well too. Yallah DJT. They are looking for you Up There... ( Hell is Up too ) youtu.be/xrZX47RbeJs?...
The trancelike dancing to the Furs in the nightclubs of my younger days. It felt like love.
I’ve always loved this song and album 🥰
President Gas is a rather relevant song.
This was wife and my main courtin' song
My favorite from the album. Arguably one of their best.
I loved that song in college. Still works. Thanks for sharing.
Great album!

Favorite Furs song… youtu.be/RuWmsg-ihLg?...
There is still touring and putting out quality music ❤️ youtu.be/Ncz9b2dIHkU?...
They’re
This gets the blood pumping. youtu.be/YNU79pCt1n4?...
If you are so inclined, listen to “India” from their debut album. It has a very long, dreamy intro, and the feeling you get when everything kicks in is just visceral.
Hit play! 😎👍 m.youtube.com/watch?v=8Uql...
Also known as “Psych Furs” in the 80’s
