A nationwide ban works and tough penalties and jail for holding an unlawful gun. The buyback was optional yes but the laws were still in place. And how many mass shootings have we had since Port Arthur...... 0 None so it worked

The guns are a symptom of a more serious problem. Banning guns doesn't cure the disease. It's like taking a cough drop for a sore throat. It's only going to make you feel better for a little bit and won't treat the root cause.

Banning guns does fix the problem so does background checks, mental health checks. It's happened in all the countries that do ban guns. Keep the guns for what who knows. Who needs an assault rifle. Most people prefer to live in countries where they don't worry about being shot or their children

The shooter today had a shotgun and a handgun. Ban the rifle and he's still armed. Also for a gun that's supposedly so deadly and needs to be banned you think they're would be more than 2 dead and 17 wounded. You'd think those numbers would be reversed.

I'm a woman there is about 13 million women here 🇦🇺 and we would also need to defend ourselves in that instance. We just don't use guns to do that It was an interesting chat all the same.

I have multiple legally owned unregistered guns. Pass the laws but at the end of the day myself and millions of others will still be armed. I refuse to give up my weapon. Australian may have had success but that won't work in the US. The horse is already out of the barn.

It's got nothing to do with per capita most people volunteered their guns to be taken back. It has everything to do with eliminating mass shootings. You either want to enact laws to protect your citizens or you don't. Keep th guns and the mass shootings will continue.

The kind of people who give up their guns are not the same people you need to worry about. Additionally, "mass shooting" and "active shooter" are not the same thing.
