Open to viewing may not mean open to editing. SharePoint also has some version tracking so any edits can be reviewed and specific editors identified tied to specific edits. Typically at least. I don't know if they intentionally disabled any of those features or changed defaults.

@gtconway.bsky.social You do understand don't you that SharePoint (and most any other shared file system) has an audit log, right? That is, potentially "open" access matters not too much when there is an audit trail logging every account and type of access (read, download, edit, access updates).

One former prosecutor mentioned DOJ didn’t seem to follow money trail and that was failure. ‘Clients’ of Epstein would have paid him, whether to provide victims or blackmail, money laundering. A lot of money flowed through Epstein and that doesn’t seem to have been investigated. Yet.
Following the money doesn't mean you can tie certain clients to this. He was a financier who got people to invest in various endeavors. So it could have been just a perk he was offering some of the other pedophiles for investing with him. But sure, that should have been looked at.

I'm a bit surprised the DOJ didn't examine his finances in presenting a case. Especially since he was prosecuted for child sex trafficking. But he also got a sweetheart deal the first time around, so maybe they just didn't care to see how far it went. I don't know.
