Law students should not interview with these firms.
Law students should not interview with these firms.
Boycott‼️
Traitors and cowards.
Kirkland & Ellis, as in Ken Starr (www.theguardian.com/us-news/2021...) and Alexander Acosta? Interesting choice.
Fuck those guys
Shame on them
Georgetown law spreadsheet of interest: bsky.app/profile/heid...
George you are wrong. Law students should interview then turn them down and state the reason. Eats up partners and associates time hits much harder.
I hope they have good security we the people are growing weary of this shit
Georgie is jealous.
Agree 👍🏻
Shun them..
I truly hope these firms cease to exist. It has happened many times before. Finley Kumble had grown to 700 lawyers at the time of its dissolution. Shea & Gould had 200 lawyers and multiple offices when it dissolved.
lol. Good luck with that. If you want the firms to stop cooperating, talk to their clients, not their future employees.
They’ve lost a ton of clients. Publicly
Not nearly enough. They’ve lost talent, which is mostly fungible at Biglaw. And the more the administration squeezes uncooperative firms (including by holding up their clients’ transactions), the more these deals pay off for firms that play ball. There’s a reason the authoritarian playbook works.
Yes but they won’t be picking up those big contracts from the real money accounts anymore because people watch the dockets and will dox the companies. If your company is known to work with them it’s a liberal ban of goods and services. Liberals tend to have more disposable income due to education.
Welcome to the Family. Say hi to RICO for me. And congratulations to Doofus for finding the Roy Cohns he was looking for.

Goes without saying. Let them have the future Giulianis and Eastmans.
I am curious how the people at those firms who oppose authoritarianism, are dealing with their jobs.
Boycott
Ya think?
Might as well. He doesn’t pay anybody anyway.
Resist if you can, we respect you! We know it's hard to turn down $120,000 to start! You can make it. Value your time, your reputation, and EVERYTHING ELSE that is at stake. Think about where you will be be in 50 years, where your children will be! It's not about doing good, but BEING GOOD.
Don’t you think someone at the helm over there is an ex republican? Now a super maga cult member? More than one?
Shame on them!
Got a hunch they are being made to write the eo on miv😎
I think I am going to need a hipster to old geezer translator.
Exec order on mail in voting 😎
Oh I got the EO part. I dont think those law firms do Con Law. I think they are doing things like breach of contract stuff, but I could be wrong. Whatever they are doing they should be ashamed of themselves.
Just from a self interested career perspective, IF the Dems take power, there will be retribution against the collaborators and why get tainted with that stank?
What do law students even study in a post rule of law environment?
I think @gtconway.bsky.social said it best: "The system isn't going to collapse because of me. Whenever a strong wind blows, your dead trees are going to come crashing down." Sounds like a fitting metaphor for those firms, don't you think?
Those firms should be wound down
The partners should be named and shamed.
The partners are likely on the Epstein list
#arrestICE #arrestTrump #fightFacism
Better yet: they should interview, go theough the whole process, and if offered the position decline it and explain that they wouldn’t work for a spinless firm. This way they’ll get experience on how to do interviews, waste their time, and let them know their firm is sh*t 😃
This 👆 is a fabulous idea!
You got there first!
Nazi sympathizers they are
Don't support Fascist
This is grotesque
Honestly, cancel them!
In principle, I agree with this. But the problem is that if you still need to find a job. And if your choice is working for one of these law firms or not working at all, what are you going to choose?
Always choose integrity.
Integrity doesn't always pay the bills.
It saves your soul though.
I used to work at K&E — my advice is that its better to not work at all
I'm assuming it was a bad place to work at. I think its easier to take that position when you are older with perspective. But when you are young, especially just out of college, its harder to eliminate a company if its your only option.
Bill Barr & Brett Kavanaugh are K&E alumni — do I need to say more?
It was toxic before he even became president. After he was elected and I learned how many in his admin were alumni of that firm, it all started to make sense
If they’re wise
I’m SO amazed at the institutions that bent the knee to Trump!!! Those institutions that many thought for sure who would stand and fight fascism when it raised its ugly head! Shame on these law firms, universities, and businesses!
They will though, because if they had strong morals most of them wouldn't have chosen law school.
Agreed, they can do better
Those law firms should now be considered traitors
Correct!
Of course they're doing free work, Trump doesn't pay his bills.
Amen. My bro clerked with Lord Day, and my SIL did with some other NY firm. They both ended up working for Tish James. Be very careful -- your future rests upon it. Much better to go with a firm you can always be proud of, then one you will always have to explain.
While Trump pockets $100 million in bond purchases without anyone blinking an eye
Will these agreements die when the orange stain does?
Only corrupt clients are hiring these firms.
Exactly right!!!
Agree. And maybe businesses shouldn't hire them either.
They need to be put out of business and disbarred
Or should they interview but decline any offer???
So these are the “best lawyers” he referred to working on abolishing mail in voting, huh
Of course they are. That was part of the agreement when they buckled to Dim Donny and his Dishonest DoJ's threats.
Another Violation of emoluments clause
Curious, where do you think the next generation of autocrat-enabling partners at these firms will come from? These firms will be fine. America is truly America-ing, and the good white conservatives, past and present, who made it this way are somehow shocked that it’s happening. 🤡
Amen. Sage advice, George.
My hope is that some judge declares these donations to Trump as unreported political donations, and makes these firms pay taxes on the value of this work, in addition to indictments for violation of election laws.
I've read that they're not. Both firms are shedding current employees and clients too, according to news reports I've seen. That all seems right and proper to me.
For Paul Weiss and Kirkland & Ellis, there’ll be a day of reckoning. Hope it’s sooner than later.
These firms are full of nazi Hans Franks. Don't apply to become another.
Never
Scoundrels fascist enablers
It's called "emoluments" and - like everything the Fuhrer does - it's ILLEGAL.
They rolled over like puppies for Trump didn’t they? Makes one wonder how quickly they would roll over if they were supposedly defending your interests!
Real lawyers shouldn’t work for these firms.
The hunger is unbearable. We go to sleep with empty stomachs and heavy hearts 😢. Hope is all we have. Share yours through the link below 💝. Help us hold on. Please check the link below 🙏. www.gofundme.com/f/a-fathers-...
Fuck them. Zero balls. I litigated with (not against) Paul Weiss. They were excellent partners in the litigation. Every single person who worked with me is gone now. Very specifically, if my law firm can be this easily manipulated by the President and caves to pressure, they are not my law firm.
If there are lawyers still associated with the firms who believe in the rule of law, maybe they will adhere to their principles. Take the case, give an honest appraisal of it, and offer the best solution. Meanwhile, the pro bono 'billable time' will be reduced. But then, I could be off my meds...
Let those law firms be stuck with second and third rate law school chaff.
They now have trumps stench all over them
Easy to say since you are established and working. That said, I agree with you but if a law student starts with them, I can’t blame them if they had to pay debts.
Any Law Firm That Bows To Extortion Is Not Worth Hiring In The First Place, As They Proved They Can Be Bought Out By The Opposing Party.
BOYCOTT!
Because if they interview with firms that do paid work for say, a tobacco company, the world would be so much better.
The foundation of our legal system is that everyone deserves representation, no matter who they are. That is why accused mass murderers are provided legal counsel. There are lawyers out there who represent individuals that they may have an issue with on that principle.
Paying the piper for caving to extortion.
Depends on what podcasts they listen to
In the 1930’s these guys would be wearing swastika arm bands
Traitors
What these firms practice isn’t law. It’s fascist enablement. It’s the enablement of government to get rid of people they don’t like,US citizens or not.Democratic or not. These practices merely put a veneer of legitimacy on fascist hate.Work for them, your law degree and any oath, is a void exercise.
I am certain I don’t matter one whit to the people that populate these firms. Apparently no citizen in the country actually does. For SHAME
How much dark money are they receiving?
Yes, that's true. But law students, by definition, are in training mode. It's the law schools, with their mission to instill honesty, ethics & courage into the legal profession, that must step up to the plate. 👇 bsky.app/profile/sile...
As a lawyer, I second third fourth and fifth that “motion”. You’ll be happier and have a longer more prosperous career knowing you’re not working with schmucks. And you’ll sleep better too!
Most lawyers don't care about the work they do fresh out of law school and for whom that work is done. Because of this, lawyers aren't well regarded as fine upstanding citizens so this article is irrelevant. You're telling new lawyers to change something that's ingrained in them from birth.
The power of the Benjamin’s says otherwise.
My hope is they all lose their law license in the end.
Nice to meet you. How was your day today
I would prefer working at the Law Offices of Ed, Ed, and Eddy or in the alternative, Saul Goodman & Associates. The second is probably a fast track to getting disbarred but I'd prefer that than having to explain why my first job was for a firm actively supporting an autocrat.
Truly disgusting.
And those of us in corporate legal departments should not hire these firms.
These are the Kooperationspartner Anwaltskanzlei
Whores
Federal agencies are not allowed to accept free goods and services from private entities. It is considered an augmentation of their appropriation and is illegal. Is there any provision of appropriations law that Trump won’t violate?
GAO on the Antideficiency Act. The act prohibits federal employees “accepting voluntary services for the United States, or employing personal services not authorized by law, except in cases of emergency involving the safety of human life or the protection of property. 31 U.S.C. § 1342.”
Also, don’t interview with fascist-collaborator Willkie Farr Gallagher.
Didn't the Trump admin sue Paul Weiss?
If they had any balls or pride, they would not.
Surprised there are still lawyers left at these firms to do any work.
Report on election manipulation!
They should pursue release of the Epstein files.
It’s time for these Law Firms to shut there doors…what happen to there oath..🤔 I guess they was always crooked
They helping Nutlick? For what? Stealing from the Treasury?
We both know the rich 'boys' that got the C in classes and really didn't understand first year civil lit. will gladly do their bidding for the right price. Those guys were always for sale. I ignored them-average idiots. I was the smart girl - and a target to them.
Agree Who wants to be a stooge?
And attorneys at other firms should not socialize or network with them.
George, I'm a retired lawyer, have worked in public sector in NY and NJ. If the firms (of which I am so ashamed) were to now refuse to provide free legal services, how would their obligation be enforced legally?
Using our laws, by twisting its meaning, in order to violate & side step our constitution, civil & basic human rights, our democracy is grounds for the Bar to revoke their law licenses. We needs every Dem Atty across America to file ethics charges on these bastards! Break the tip of Trumps spear!
Shame on these firms.
Whatever happened to Neil Katyal?
I used to think Neal Katyal was a stand up guy, but the more I learn about him, the more I see him as another corporate shill. It’s hard being an idealist. Perpetually disappointed in people.
I agree. So many disappointments. 😔😔😔
Went completely silent when his firm went nazi. 🤷♀️ Guess he’s down with that and it was all about the money for him too? Another who I thought was Honorable decent and trustworthy - ending up being a coward who shamefully profits from misery.
He has long represented powerful interests against workers. He was good on some issues and wicked smart, but $$$.
What Trump and Project 2025 are doing is creating and updating a new form of slavery. Do we see chain gangs of dark skinned people housed in the new concentration camps in fields? Laying new roads and building buildings for the owners?
BOYCOTT
Law students who work with them should be punished in a variety of creative ways like personal sanctions etc
Leave 'em be. We are known by the company we keep. Future client development and job hire resumes take over sooner than later.
I feel sorry for anyone that has worked at one of these firms and no longer does. Its a stain on their resume that they will have to try to explain, and they still may suffer from guilt by association.
Yes. As long as we have a memory and hold people accountable.
To some people it will be a big deal to keep as a memory, to others it won't.
If they are Republicans -- or not.
My son's a woke 3rd year law student. I'll ask him what he thinks.
You do that.
Avoid Jones Day as well
🔥 Dear @gtconway.bsky.social @jkbjournalist.bsky.social @sarahlongwell25.bsky.social Weiss, Kirkland & Ellis->underscored represented epstein in 2008 I believe Ellis is the one who worked w Acosta - some girlfriend involved?🤷♀️ Was that why they bend the knee so fast? JKB might be able to clarify
They are "just" keeping their end of the capitulation bargain. And no, law students should not interview with fascist supporting firms.
strange how the free market fundamentalists become fascists that capture the government & demand free labor. I think that's happened a few times. weird, huh?
