The number of things he has described as national emergencies is varied and endless which exposes them as pretextual. On the other hand, they can all be viewed as accurately labeled in that they are all caused by Trump, and cannot be cured by him.

Every president for two decades has cited national emergency to keep civil service salaries low. If they do not by the end of August each year then the salaries will get caught up to cost of living increases- which over 20 years would result in a large amount.

Everyone having to keep guessing whether they'll choose justice over politics is all anyone needs to know about what kind of "court" they are.
What worries me is that this was a divided opinion. That will give the SCOTUS majority something to use to justify overturning this ruling.

Oh. The four dissenters would have gone further and ruled that all Trump’s tariffs were illegal. That’s a relief, but given this SCOTUS, they will most likely just sit on a decision till June.
