It's just the idea that the flag - an explicit symbol whose only purpose is to literally symbolize the province - being voted as the best provincial symbol kinda misses what I feel is the point of the activity. If he had included the words "BRITISH COLUMBIA" in the bracket, should that win?
I mean, you could also make the argument that a filler entry (that Justin added just to have an even number) winning is an extremely BC thing to happen...
Except most flags are not good. Most provincial flags wouldn’t get votes. The couple of other ones that have cool flags tend to have a symbol on the flag that would likely beat out the flag itself. It is not getting votes because it’s the flag, it’s getting votes because the flag is unusually good
It's putting the caption "omg, this picture is totally me!" beneath your own drivers license photograph.
(I'm realizing I feel more strongly about this than I thought, haha) I guess I think of this whole fun project like, "if you were designing a new flag of BC, what would you put on it?" If it ends up the answer is "a picture of the old flag" then, as Justin says, it's the funniest possible outcome.
