Democrats had 60 votes under Obama and couldn't get one House seat let alone statehood. The old excuses don't work when we see what Republicans are able to do when they have power.

Yea, that’s true. So looking in the past we could blame FDR also. He had a senate Democrat majority also.

FDR didn't try. Obama tried to get 1 House seat in exchange for Utah getting a seat. Democrats still couldn't get that done. If you can't see the difference...

Yea, I see what you’re saying. I know FDR didn’t try. There was no trump back then. We can harp on the past or try to get back in the game. My main point with Mehdi was about bashing Dems with a broad brush. I mean it’s popular to do that these days. But not all Dems deserve being constantly bashed.

I think the basic argument is Republicans find a way, clear any obstacle to advance their agenda. Democrats don't and that's costly as DC learned today. The moral of the story is that Democrats need to act much more aggressively next time in power. DC is just one example.

Yea, it’s always been that way. Repubs fall in line in the end after all the theatrics are over. Repubs are bunch of white guys who will be a minority one day and they know it. Managing Dems is like herding cats. Dems are more diverse. But yea, Dems need to be more aggressive. Some are but not all.
