I used to have recurring nightmares about eating it.

I did eat it, once or twice, for work in the 80s It was kind of expected* It (Friskies canned stuff) was oily but ok. Go Cat was like fishy cheap digestives *I was working on projects for Nestlé petfoods - it wasn't as if I was a loss adjuster or a traffic warden with a psychopathic boss

Also - it was only a tiny bit. Maybe 1/2 a tsp at a couple of product development meetings We did all have lovely shiny hair and nice wet noses, though

😀My neighbour once dished out the tinned cat food with a fork and then absentmindedly licked it with every sign of appreciation.

The whole ad campaign for Friskies was based on there being enough cat owners who would pay more for stuff that looked palatable enough that they'd consider eating it As long as they didn't read the label too closely "Recovered head meat"... High on sustainability, less so on descriptive appral

Was young and stupid (And with quite a high threshold for weird foods. I mean it wasn't as if it was anything truly disgusting like piccalilli or celeriac)
